What's Happening at Perth Road Public School
Week of February 23 - 27, 2026
Thank you from Ms. Leggett!
Last week, my bus quit on Wilmer Road and thanks to the students we were able to manage the situation with speed and diplomacy. Right away one of the kids started crying I told him everything is fine. I asked has anyone ever had car trouble. One of the kids said they had a flat tire on their car. I said this is kind of like that we have two buses coming so we are all okay.
Avery Magee helped settle the kids down and Isabelle Hatcher phoned any parents if the children knew their phone number to let the parents know the bus had broken down and a spare was on the way.
I had coasted over to the side of the road. We were pretty much on a large snowbank so as people came to get their children I had to help them through the snowbank. I posted Eli Johnson at the door to make sure no children left the bus without me seeing them. When the first bus came, I told the driver to block the lane so no one could pass as I had to help the kids navigate through the huge snowbank.
When the second bus came it parked a ways in front of my bus. I got Isabelle and Avery to stand between the two buses and direct the children to the second bus. As I still had to do a child check to ensure none were left behind. If you recognize children for good deeds, I would like to have these three children recognized.
Thank you in advance Kathy Leggett Bus 560
